The “2026 PCSI Defensive Pistol Challenge,”
A Tier 2 sanctioned IDPA match.

Match Starts: 8:00 AM Friday, August 28, 2026, and ends 4:00 PM Saturday, August 29,2026. Times are Eastern Time Zone.

Join us for the 2026 PCSI Defensive Pistol Challenge, a Tier 2 match sanctioned under the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) hosted by Pickaway County Sportsmen, Inc. This year’s match features 9 total stages, including 7 scenario stages, a warm-up, a cool down,and an equipment check. Round count will be approximately 150. 

 

The match is open to all IDPA classifications (novice and above), in the following divisions:

 

- Compact Carry Pistol (CCP)
- Carry Optics (CO)
- Custom Defensive Pistol (CDP)
- Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP)
- Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC)
- Revolver (REV)
- Stock Service Pistol (SSP)

 

Match Schedule:

 

- Friday, August 28, 2026: Staff match day.
- Saturday, August 29, 2026: Match day for registered competitors.


** 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Mandatory equipment check and check-in. Arrive early to ensure plenty of time to check-in, complete equipment check and make it to the shooter’s meeting at your assigned range bay.

** 9:20 AM: Shooters meeting at assigned squad’s range bay.        

** 9:30 AM: First shots.

 

Registration Details:

 

- Match fee is $90.
- Registration will open in PractiScore.com on January 16, 2026.
- Registration closes on July 28, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
- Cancellations/Withdrawals after close of registration will not receive a refund. Refunds requested before the close of registration will incur a $10.00 administration fee.
- No Division changes or refunds after registration closes.
- Classification changes will be allowed after close of registration as necessary.
- Select only one subcategory as outlined in IDPA Match Administration Rules, Section M-5.4.
- Participants will receive 1 point toward 2027 IDPA Nationals qualification.

 

Squadding:

 

- Squad selection is on a first-come, first-served basis on registration.
- Please squad yourself promptly to ensure placement with your preferred group.
- No squad changes can be made after registration closes.
- Squad assignments may be changed to even out squads.

 

Rules and Safety:

 

- Per IDPA announcement, use of the SIG Sauer P320 in all its variants are prohibited from any competition or event under the name of IDPA.
- Serpa type holsters are not permitted.
- PCSI operates a cold range. Loaded firearms are prohibited on PCSI property unless the person is actively shooting a course of fire during the match.
- PCSI requires all persons entering ranges to sign-in/out at the shed by the clubhouse.
- Persons not registered for the match must sign the waiver found in the shed by the clubhouse prior to proceeding to the ranges.
- Appendix carry is allowed, if compliant with IDPA safety standards.
- Eye & ear protection is required at all times on the ranges.
- Muzzles over berm will result in a match DQ, exception being revolvers with open cylinders during reload.
- A dropped firearm anywhere on club property is a match DQ.
- PCCs require a chamber flag and will be carried to and from the line muzzle down.
- You must be a current member of IDPA with a current classification to shoot the match.
- The current IDPA and Match Administration rules will apply to this match. It is the responsibility of the shooter to know and follow those rules and to ensure a current IDPA membership and classification.

 

Match Book:

 

- Match Book will only be available electronically.
- Will be released on Monday before the match.
- There is no guarantee the Match Book stages will match exactly the Match physical stages.
- Please see the match book after it is issued for additional information.

 

Match Jersey:

 

- Commemorative match jerseys for competitors are available to be purchased through ZeroSports. A link to purchase the commemorative match jersey will be sent to competitors on their confirmation email.
- Staff are provided a commemorative match jersey.

 

Snacks and water:

 

- 4-H will have snacks available throughout the ranges, a donation is requested.
- Water will be provided at each range bay.

 

First Aid:

 

- First aid personnel will be available to address medical emergencies and minor injuries
throughout match.
- AEDs are available on exterior east wall of Clubhouse and Division barn.

 

Awards and Prizes:

 

- Awards will be presented based on IDPA rules and number of participants per Division/Class immediately after the protest period.
- Prizes will be randomly drawn from names of participating competitors and distributed during the match.

 

Lodging:

 

- Hotels are available in Circleville and Canal Winchester, Ohio
